Ricky Gervais Xfm shows

Credit and respect to Kai for doing the playlists (Feverish Mind)...

The Ricky Gervais podcast is similar to his early radio show on London's Xfm. Unfortunately, the Xfm site has segmented the shows into 10-12 clips an episode, so instead of listening to an episode, you have to click a link every few minutes. Here's a hack so you can listen to the whole of any of the three series in the Xfm browser...

Early days - Series 1 - Series 2

Of course, an entire series is over 10 hrs long, so you can download the .ASX file by right-clicking the links below, saving it locally, and opening it as a playlist in the in an mp3 player.

Early days (.asx) - Series 1 (.asx) - Series 2 (.asx)

You could at least give me credit for making these .asx files.

Right click and do a "save link..." to your drive.
Then open the file in Windows Media Player, BS Player etc.
I just retested and they work in the above mentioned applications.

sorry, they work like that but what I REALLY would love is something I could load on my IPOD. Any ideas?

As a general rule with streamed media you cannot save the file onto your PC. The only way around I think is to stream and record the sound. Use audacity for this as it's opensource. If others know a better way then please post advice. Thanks.

Here's something that you can save to your IPOD or HARD DISK:

It's an iTunes RSS feed with all 20 volumes from Season 1. I've joined all the wma clips from each volume into m4a files.. so youve got 20, one hour long, clips instead of 200 3 minute long wma files.

Go here http://seej.hopto.org/?p=4 and follow the instrucs to add to iTunes. (Just drag link to xml file into itunes and it will start downloadin).

iTunes will download/save the m4a files to your hard disk to play them, then you can add them to your iPod.

I guess its faster this way.. and easier.

****I'll also be posting the remaining clips from "the early years" and "season 2"****
